Where is the SiMT located?

Our state-of-the-art facilities are located on a 146-acre campus at Florence-Darlington Technical College in Florence, South Carolina, two miles west of Interstate 95 on Highway 52. Our address is 1951 Pisgah Road, Florence, SC 29501.

Does the SiMT only do work for South Carolina companies?

No. The Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology works with local, regional, national, and international firms every week.

What services does the SiMT provide?

The SiMT's business units include SiMT Manufacturing, the Gould Business Incubator, and Event Services: the Conference Center, MPD Auditorium, Executive Boardroom, BB&T Dining room and multiple classrooms. 

The FDTC Division of Corporate and Workforce Development is also housed at the SiMT.

How can the SiMT help expand my company's manufacturing services?

Most manufacturing firms do not have the resources to own a wide variety of machines that may only be used occasionally. The SiMT has the expertise and capabilities to make it possible for you to prototype product concepts and/or fill orders without expending capital for new equipment. Contact us today to learn more.

What is additive manufacturing or 3D printing?

Additive manufacturing or 3D printing is any of the various processes of making a three-dimensional object from a 3D model or another electronic data source primarily through additive processes in which successive layers of material are laid down under computer control. Our additive manufacturing center is capable of printing a variety of semi-rigid to rigid plastics and metals.

Do you just make prototypes or can you produce machined parts in quantities?

The SiMT state-of-the-art machine shop can work with your designs to produce one or thousands of precision machined parts. We can also aid you in designing and/or troubleshooting the part you need.

We are planning to host training sessions at the SiMT. Do we need to bring our own audiovisual equipment?

No. All training rooms at the SiMT are fully equipped with plug-and-play audiovisual equipment and we have a trained audiovisual staff to assist.
